Anam Aasem

Anam is the Supervising Attorney at the firm, where she has been a key member of the legal team since 2019. She brings extensive experience handling a broad range of complex immigration matters, with a particular focus on humanitarian relief and removal defense. Her practice includes representing clients in applications for asylum, cancellation of removal, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), U visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), protections under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and family-based petitions such as I-130 petitions, as well as adjustment of status and waiver applications before Immigration Courts (EOIR) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). She regularly appears before these agencies as a dedicated advocate for her clients.

In her role as Supervising Attorney, Anam oversees case strategy and supports the professional development of attorneys and staff, ensuring the highest standards of legal representation across the firm.

Prior to relocating to the United States, Anam earned her law degree in the United Kingdom and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010. She is a member of the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in London, one of the world’s most distinguished professional bodies for barristers and judges. Her legal work in the United Kingdom focused on the intersection of domestic law and international human rights principles, which continues to inform her approach to immigration advocacy.

She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2018 and, shortly thereafter, began dedicating her practice to addressing the human rights challenges faced by immigrant communities in the United States. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a pro bono attorney with Catholic Charities, further reinforcing her longstanding commitment to public service.

Outside of her practice, Anam enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. She is fluent in Urdu/Hindi
