As a native Spanish speaker and the son of Chilean immigrants, Carlos knows personally the unique challenges families face when building a life in America.
Carlos brings years of experience and attention to detail to the Leyruta team. Before dedicating his career to immigration defense in 2024, Carlos spent over a decade working on complex civil litigation, federal inquiries, and large-scale corporate investigations. He also successfully appealed visa applications and investigated migrant worker conditions as a Student Attorney at the American University Washington College of Law. His work was published and cited in the Federal Register. Carlos handles every matter with compassion, accuracy, and care to ensure the families he protects have the strongest possible representation.
Carlos lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, son, and their rescue dog, Zelda. Outside the office, he is an active community volunteer and a coffee connoisseur. When time allows, you can usually find him exploring Virginia’s wine country.
He is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., New York, and New Jersey.
